And secondly, a Fw would never survive that many hits in any other serious flight game. Firstly, I never got the kill for the Fw 190 in the start. Possibly the reason why unavoidable head-ons against Mouse Aimers are pretty much always impossible to win - and also the same reason why it's so common and easy for mouse aimmers to go for a head-on instead of better exploring other tactics, especially in low tiers.Ĭlip #2 was a pretty frustating one. Something that's very important and often missed, especially by players who haven't tried out SIM battles before, is that, in contrast to Mouse Aim, pilots actually have to wait a bit for the enemy plane to get into the exact position they want and then shoot instead of actively moving their aim all the time - the latter, with realistic controls, would only make things worse, inducing a lot of wobble and requiring excessive and constant corrections yet, it has but barely any effect with Mouse Aim, for the autopilot magically applies the correct amount of control pressure in every flight surface to minimize this. It's there (together with clip 6 later on) to show that while, by far, I'm not one of the best pilots, I do have an idea of what I'm doing, how to lead my shots, how to manage my plane speed/energy, and how to be gentle on the controls - so I'm not only ranting here while having no clue of how to fly a plane. This is why we so deperately need a SIMulation mode for Xbox, even if only restricted to Xbox players (which there are many who want it - and the cheap excuse of no player base we been receiving for months shouldn't be accepted), or to allow Research Points to be gained through Custom matches with simulation settings on until we get a proper Sim mode - for it is totally unfair to be forced to gain Research Points only when playing against Mouse Aimmers!Ĭlip #1 shows an engagement in which I've been successful. The goal is not trying to take Mouse Aim out of War Thunder - as that is surely not an option after WT allowed this mode to stay in for years already - but to give players who are looking for a more realistic experience and who enjoy to fly planes the way they were meant to, exploring each planes weakness and strenghtness, a chance to do so without getting owned by every Mouse Aimmer out there that never gets into a spin, rarely gets into a serious stall, and can zero in on you in less than a second after finishing a turn and shoot you down before you even get a chance to take proper aim. This is just a collection of clips from recent flying that I recorded with Xbox DVR showing how ridiculous Mouse Aim is when compared to any other flight mode where you must control your plane manually in the 3 Axis. or even any mode at all that doesn't allows Mouse Aim but allows you to gain Research Points!
